What I Tell Buyers About New Hyde Park
New Hyde Park sits right on the Queens line, which gives it a Main Line LIRR station, a short ride to Penn Station and Grand Central Madison, and the Cross Island and Northern State within minutes. For anyone who works in the city but wants a Nassau address and Nassau schools, this is one of the most practical places on the map.
I have done thirteen transactions here - two sales and eleven leases, almost all of them at 400 and 410 Jericho Turnpike - so I know the rental side of this town better than almost anyone. On the sale side I closed $749,888 for a four-bedroom on Maple Drive West and $640,000 on Tottenham Place. The school structure is the thing to get right: New Hyde Park addresses feed one of several elementary districts and then into the Sewanhaka central high school district, except where they are in Herricks, which is K-12.
